The Supreme Court said on Monday that the candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses will have to go through the National Eligibility Entrance Test. The Court rejected the appeal of states to allow them to conduct their separate entrance tests for admission to MBBS and BDS.

upreme Court also said in its order that the students who did not appear in the NEET-1 would be allowed to appear in the NEET-2. The court further said that the NEET for MBBS Admissions does not affect rights of the minority nor does it impact provisions for reservation.
The AIPMT held on May 1, has been considered as NEET-1. The students who have not applied for the AIPMT will be given a chance to appear in the NEET-2 to be held on July 24. Candidates who appeared in the NEET-1 will be allowed to reappear in the NEET-2.
The results for both the tests will be declared on August 17 and admission process has to be completed by all colleges bySeptember 30.
